Why This Matters
From 2012 to 2021, 1,161 Georgia citizens lost their lives to firearms in domestic violence-related incidents. That’s enough to fill two and a half Boeing 747 airliners. By enacting already existing federal legislation in the State of Georgia, we believe that our state could see the 14% reduction in domestic violence-related firearm deaths that other states who have adopted this legislation have seen.
